One of the keys to happy and healthy horse care is pairing horses appropriately. Horses are herd animals, and prefer to be with other horses, but finding the right group can be critical to their safety and well-being. It is also essential to provide good quality hay and keep a regular feeding schedule.

Pictured above are Precious and Spook, happily eating together. Sonny, above right, is also enjoying his grass/alfalfa hay. All of these horses are owned by Heidi and Heather Brandt.

The Gallatin County Fairgrounds offers overnight horse and livestock boarding to travelers.

The fee is $15/night/horse/stall for the first night (includes first bedding) and $10/night/horse for additional nights. Additional bedding is available for purchase.

Outdoor pens are $7/night/horse or $65/day for multiple horses.Owners provide their own hay and care.
